We use a few key tools and host regular events to stay connected and get things done as a remote team. This guide will walk you through the tools, events, and practices that keep us organized, productive, and connected every day—including our virtual town halls and annual Meetup.

While this document lists our key tools, please refer to the ‣ for an exhaustive list of all tools used at Float.

🤝 Intentional synchronous connections

Annual Team Meetup

This is our once-a-year chance to meet IRL! The Annual Team Meetup brings the entire Float team together to build stronger relationships, collaborate on key initiatives, and celebrate our collective successes. Check out the Annual Team Meetup page for past and upcoming meetup details.

Town Halls

We host town halls twice per quarter. The day and time change each time, so attend when it aligns with your schedule—we want to see as many faces as possible! Check out the ‣ page for past and upcoming Town hall details.

Donut

Fostering connections with virtual social meetups, Donut pairs team members every four weeks for "Real Time" interactions. Matches are automated via Slack’s #realtime channel, which integrates with Google Calendar.

✍️ Async at its best!

💬 Slack

‣ is our primary platform for daily communication. Use it for quick updates, async discussions, and staying connected with the team.

🤖 Geekbot (async weekly check-ins)

Geekbot makes it easy to stay in sync without adding extra meetings. These check-ins help track progress, identify blockers, and maintain open communication. ➡️ Weekly check-ins (Geekbot)

Bob (HiBob) – 1:1s, Recognition & Team Info

‣ is our central hub for managing team interactions, recognition, and updates.
