At Float, taking time off work to recharge and attend to your personal life is essential. That’s why every team member is entitled to one Life Leave day off per quarter, up to four days per year. This is in addition to our 20-day Time Off Policy.

Life Leave is designed to encourage regular time off and remind you that taking a break is okay, even without a holiday planned. It's a flexible day off that can be used for birthdays, rest days, or personal appointments. You can also combine it with your vacation or regional holidays to simplify scheduling.

Please note that Life Leave must be used within each quarter and doesn't carry over or get paid out. We recommend planning and scheduling your Life Leave days in advance.

<aside> 🔋 All team members are eligible for Life Leave, regardless of capacity or start date. The only exceptions are;

• If you're not online (working) for 80% of the quarter, such as during Family Leave or
• For those who join mid-quarter, the entitlement is prorated. For instance, if you start before the midpoint of Q1, you’ll receive the full four Life Leave days. However, if you join towards the end of Q1, you’ll be eligible for half a day, giving you a total of 3.5 Life Leave days for that quarter.
  • Please note that Life Leave must be utilized within the quarter it is allocated, regardless of your start date. </aside>

Here's a simple checklist you can use for Life Leave requests:

• [ ] Have you checked your time off with your team to ensure coverage and avoid conflicts?
• [ ] Is your time-off request at least 10 days in the future?
• [ ] Have you requested the time off in Float and had it approved?
• [ ] Have you inputted your approved Life Leave in Rippling (for those in the US only)?
