🎉
Being recognized for great work or living our values feels good, and it encourages more of the same! At Float, we use 15Five to send recognition, called "high fives." Here are some tips for giving high fives and making yours meaningful.

How to give high fives
You can give a high five in 15Five in a few ways:
- High fives feed: Click "High Fives" on the 15Five homepage to send one anytime.
- Via Slack: In any channel, type
/highfive, then @ mention the person and add your message.

- During your weekly check-in: You'll be prompted to give high fives as part of your check-in.
🔒 This is the only way to send a private high five.
Unless you send a private high five, all methods post to #all-high-fives in Slack for everyone to see 🤩
Best practices
- Be specific and timely. A "great job" lands better with context; share the why. And sooner is better, though a late high five beats none at all ⏰
- Don't overlook small wins. Day-to-day contributions warrant recognition too, not just big achievements.
- Consider how people like to be recognized. Check someone's profile "About" section to see their preference. If they prefer private recognition, send it via your weekly check-in so that you can mark it as private.
- Reference our values. Adding value hashtags keeps them top of mind and ties recognition to what matters at Float Our values
