We want Float families to enjoy those special early moments together, and from our experience, Family Leave looks different for everyone.

We are supportive of team members wanting to switch off from Float entirely, and we also welcome those that want to stay in touch or take a brief time out with their family and then return to work. To support you in planning Family Leave as it is meaningful to you, from 2022 onwards, we offer:

We offer three family leave plans:

Upfront leave

Those who want to take paid time off once the new family member arrives.

Example: Take 16 weeks off when the child arrives and then return to your role.

Ordered Leave

Those who want to spend time with family but continue to work. This plan involves scheduling regular leave with your family over the first 12 months. This arrangement would be planned well in advance and would be a regular ongoing arrangement across the first year, making sure it is easy to plan with your team.

Example: Take 8 weeks off with your new family member and then return to work at half-capacity (2.5 days per week or 5-day fortnights) for 16 weeks.

Extended Leave

For those that want a longer time away from work. Leave can be extended for up to 12 months by taking unpaid leave. If you are taking Extended Leave, we can work with you to space out your Family Leave payments across the leave period if you'd like.

Example: Take 32 weeks off at half-pay.

ALT Example: Take a year off and receive half-pay for the first 32 weeks.

Planning your Family Leave

Please let your manager know well in advance so we can help you plan your leave and ensure that you can switch off when you want to, enjoy family time and have a smooth return to work.

You can work with your Manager and Georgie to organize your Family Leave and implement a return to work plan.
